BUT THIS GAME, GUYS! It hit all the points of RPG mixed with RTS and they gave us an amazing story and the ability to make our character. Granted there isn't many customization options but still creating a character was what was missing from the first one as well as how easy it is to buy the schematics for all the races. It's beautiful to be able to get them all from a merchant rather than having to scour every little piece of each level to ensure you find each one and to have some you didn't have pop up at the very end of the game like in SP3 that you couldn't even use. Picking two classes to have to level together is just as amazing as well. This game i hope has some more story and features added on to it cause it's absolutely wonderful. I've been a spellforce fan for a very long time and was kind of sad about SP3 but they def had a major come back with this one. Is there a few bugs? Yes. but nothing that they won't fix i'm sure. Plus they added modding options which is great too. They did everything right with this game! I've boasted about it on every channel of social media i have because it's so wonderful. The current cons to this game is that some of the quest rewards aren't really worth it. Customization doesn't have many options. It would be nice to have some battlemage armors that don't make you look like a brick and give me some amazing wands that look as cool as the wintermage one! lol. It's just a great game and so worth the buy.To the company THANK YOU so much for the loyalty price. I can't thank you enough for that. I felt ripped off with SP3 but you def made a come back!. I'm giving this a Big thumbs up before I played it because they gave a big Loyalty discount to those who owned the previous games! More Publishers need to do this! Review to come!. This game is is wonderful. I love the graphics the beautiful music and the sound design. Cannot wait to see the corruption of the circle, the runewars and maybe the lore of Hokan Ashire done with those graphics, character design and storytelling. The conversations with your fellow group members are so well written and acted. Also character design is top notch. Sometimes I just stand in a cave or on a hill and enjoy the breathtaking graphical love for details and move the camera around to find the best view. RPG and RTS parts are well mixed and I have a very good time with both of it. The whole lore of spellforce has such a big potential and gave me shivers ever since I played the first part 12 years ago. I wish you good fortune in the wars to come THQ.P.S. Also if you hate moles you will love this game. :D. This is an amazing title, and I am actually surprised since it was quite cheap. I did not expect this level of quality or the rich content that I got. I have already put in many hours and it feels like I've only scratched the surface of the game. The graphics are stunningly beatiful and feel unique in every corner of every map, the music is beatiful and the whole game is voice acted. The majority of my gametime has been in the campaign, and I have only tried one skirmish match. Gameplay mixes the two genres of RPG and RTS. Some maps focus on one part, others on the other and then there's those that mix them two together, and those maps have been absolutely a blast to play. This mix of genres can make the controls and UI a bit bothersome as you tend to lose your heroes among a horde of infantry and some adjustments could have been done to make this work better like have icons above the heroes, have a 'quick jump to last notification' hotkey and have more options on their AI behavior etc, but it is just a minor issue. The camera control was also a bit wierd at first but I got used to it. I do wish you could zoom out more than the game allows but yet again, minor complaints. The character customization, progression and the combination of two classes is fun to play around with, and every level feels rewarding. The reason I've only played one skrimish match is because they totally tossed this out of the window in skirmish mode. There are two premade heroes for each faction, and their skilltrees are so much more limited than in the campaign. A real bummer. But I'm still happy since I do not have to get into skirmish mode to enjoy this game together with friends. The campaign can be played with up to two other players, and they can all make their unique hero. while the campaign is great solo it just so much better with a friend or two. It's brilliant and such a nice suprise as a coop campaign isn't mentioned on the storepage. As you've probably figured out already, I'm very happy with my purchase and can not recommend the game enough.. I didn't like the last release in the series but did the first ones. I had hopes this release would be something that the devs learned from mistakes. I've only played this for 11 hour or so far. However I have played both single player and multiplayer. Honestly with myself and 3 companions in solo play, all the skills are too much to handle without the ability to pause to have time to put some commands out. multiplayer; however with two people, it's nice... each person can control 2 characters each . I would put a thumbs down on the fact that solo play and juggling is way too much for one set of hands to do at once without the ability to pause, but I can't .. I really love the game and the story and voice is awesome. they did amazing work on the voice overs, the story, etc. I'm really happy with the game so far.. Pretty good so far but it still has a lot of minor issues sadly holding it back a lot in both campaign and coop.Everything is very flimsy to target, you can basically not tell if you clicked something to attack, there is very little and very tiny cursor feedback. Even crazier on the first Boss totems, which have no cursor change and a super tiny click hitbox. Its also hard to see if the units actively attack something and there is no feedback if they just issues a new attack command. The unit animations are also very slow and non-exagerrated making this even worse. Its also very hard to see the commander or what you have selected, and the units blend into the environment very easily and are very hard to make out. The ability feedback is also very bad, you get no feedback for clicking or activating something over the button and there is also no indicator for something being triggered over the ALT menu, there is cruxial button states missing making both feel _very_ bad and confusing to use. F1-F9 are also horrible buttons, (im a guy using 25 hotkeys in wow but F buttons are just bad and I mess it up all the time) how is 1-9 not used? It is also not required to have a giant bar active all the time on top, that should scale based on abilities. In campaign, It is a bit crazy how you get instantly thrown into a 4 man party in solo without a pause button, Im pretty good at micro but either Im undergeared or the game is very hard. I had to turn back from hard mode as it was insanely brutal and the first boss requires micro and reactions akin to an average ARPG (dodging AOE attacks and melee attacks in 1-2s timeframes) but for 4 characters at the same time, with one spin attack dealing 30% health damage of all units in range, which seemed to be balanced crazy clutch around a real pause+command move mode but there is none, and the normal mobs are mental on hard also. In campaign you also get buried with talent points which is very tedious at the start. Don't let me level up 4 characters 3 times over one mission, that just makes it tedious and little meaningful. Having 4x2 talent trees to read right in the second mission is also a bit crazy, how does this not ramp up 1-2-3-4-5 over time? Managing 5 characters right after the first boss is something I doubt any average player can manage or comprehend reasonably. The heroes also don't stand out without the extra setting at all. Generally the game could be and feel a lot better if there were a global pass over audiovisual feedback especially on attacks, abilities, selections and unit commands as this makes everything feel very mushy, very hard to read and make out units, attacks and commands (so everything that is at importance) and very unresponsive right now, otherwise this is a good game with great aesthetics, voice acting and surprising depth (although items in PVP are too bland), 5 races is also very impressive and I do appreaciate the rework of the HUD as well which is much sleeker now but please fix the command and ability feedback.. I'm so glad to see this series continue in spite of having a cult presence at best.Grimlore, the developers, have obviously learnt a whole lot from the the release and reception of Spellforce 3. This time, the release version is polished and stable out of the box, far more so than is the average for the industry in 2019 in fact. They took other lessons too, streamlining the RTS side of the game and some of the RPG minutiae. The verdict is still open on whether the changes are for good or ill, likely both, but it's always impressive to see a developer work this hard to respond to audience feedback.I'm not enjoying the plot or the smaller roster of companions as much this time, but it's still high quality work and far better written and voice acted than the vast vast majority of this industry. You might be pleased to hear there are more RPG specific missions in this one, closer to ye old fashioned dungeon crawl, compared to the amount of RTS focused maps.Still, get into it, you'll love it or I can't even begin to imagine what you think is fun.p.s. Just like with Spellforce 3, do be ready to go in and rebind the key layout when you jump in. They tried a whole new bag this time and just like last, it doesn't work with me personally (and my bet is many of you too).. SUMMARY AND VERDICTFor a full review of the game, please follow the link: https://www.reddit.com/r/SpellForce/comments/bu2txe/spellforce_3_soul_harvest_review_beta_tester/ Disclaimer: Even though I do not have many hours on the current build, I was a beta tester for SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest with over 50 hours put into it which can be confirmed by the game’s credits.SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest aimed to improve the base which SpellForce 3 had established and this time, they delivered. The gameplay feels better, fresher and most importantly, it’s a lot of fun – all of which made me really enjoy it and gave me that good old SpellForce feeling that I’ve been missing for so long. The campaign delivers a solid and well-polished 20-hour narrative which does a good job of balancing RPG and RTS – the two big trademarks of the series and at only 25 Euro at release (15 if you own SpellForce 3!), SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest is definitely a game that is worth its price and that I’d recommend everyone to put into their gaming library!Ratings (out of 10): Gameplay: 8.3Story: 8.9Visuals: 9Sound: 9.6Replay Value: 7.5Final Verdict: 8.66. Bravo ! Just need randomly generated side quest and the campaign would be perfect (like radiant quest in skyrim). Also maybe add a cycle for item in shops to change. I would have paid easely 10$-15$ more just for that.Otherwise its a solid 10/10The narative story is super immersive, i was damn suprised :). 15 dollars, are you kidding me? As you enter the game, you are introduced to a beatiful soundtrack. Then you continue and understand they improved on many things. Can someone from THQ do a proper marketing campaign for this title? It's so sad that this game is not listed among the best modern cRPGs, because it's simply of high, high quality.
